I know it is really hard to find games like wow that you might actually enjoy. There are 1000's of titles available with very similar characteristics. It all comes down to personal preference and whether or not you are willing to pay to play. Most online games are priced fairly, but some kids just simply cannot afford a World of Warcraft subscription.

Every game listed is absolutely debatable on whether or not they are like WoW. I cannot stress enough the importance of change though. Although some of the games noted may not even come close to becoming a WoW rival, I would highly suggest trying something new. You will eventually bore yourself out playing the same style game over and over. RPGs can be very addicting though. You are probably looking for an alternative to WoW due to the mass amounts of gold farming and activity that go on in the game, or you are simply tired of it. If you are tired of WoW, you are most likely going to be tired of the similar games, and you should probably consider an entire different genre of games. Real time strategy games can be a blast, along with first person shooters. I personally suggest Runescape, which may be a bit slower paced than WoW, it's very addicting and enjoyable.
